When do I use it?
Use the present continuous for future plans and arrangements that are already decided, especially when a time and place are set. It is the most natural way in English to talk about a meeting, a trip, or a date that is on your calendar.
- I am meeting my friend tomorrow at 6.
- We are flying to Madrid next Monday.
- She is having dinner with her parents on Friday.
The action is planned now, so you need a future time expression like tomorrow, next week, or on Friday to make the future meaning clear.
How do I form it?
am/is/are + verb + -ing + future time expression

Match am/is/are to the subject, then add the time expression to signal the future.
Subject + am/is/are + verb + -ing + future time. Example: They are leaving at 9.
Common mistakes for Spanish speakers
Spanish speakers often use "will" for every future idea, but for fixed arrangements English prefers the present continuous: "Voy a salir con María" is not "I will go out with Maria tomorrow" but "I am going out with Maria tomorrow". Another slip is forgetting the future time expression: "We are meeting" sounds like a current action without tomorrow or next Monday. Finally, remember the -ing: "I am meet my sister" should be "I am meeting my sister".
If you already have a ticket, a booking, or a firm plan with a time, use the present continuous, not "will".
