When do I use it?
Use a plural noun when there is more than one of something. Most nouns add -s, but there are rules for -es, -ies, and some irregular forms you have to remember.
How do I form it?
Most nouns: add -s → book → books, car → cars Ending in s, x, ch, sh: add -es → box → boxes, watch → watches Consonant + y: change y to -ies → city → cities, baby → babies Irregular forms: man → men, woman → women, child → children, foot → feet, person → people
Common mistakes for Spanish speakers
Irregular plurals don't follow the -s rule. "Childs", "mens", and "sheeps" are all wrong: the correct forms are "children", "men", and "sheep" (sheep stays the same). Also don't add -s to uncountable nouns: "informations" and "furnitures" are not correct in English — say "some information" and "some furniture".
Some words never change: sheep → sheep, fish → fish. If a word already sounds plural, keep it simple.
