What you'll learn
By the end of this lesson, you'll be able to ask information questions with question words and the correct word order.
When do I use it?
Use a question word + do/does when you want more than a yes/no answer: "Where do you live?", "When does the class start?" Use "who" to ask about a person and "how old" for age.
How do I form it?
Where do you work? When does she arrive? What do they eat for lunch? How old are you?
Common mistakes for Spanish speakers
Don't forget the helper after the question word. "Dónde vives?" becomes "Where do you live?", not "Where you live?" And keep the verb in its base form after "does": "What does she wants?" is wrong, use "What does she want?" For age, use "how old": "How old are you?", not "How many years do you have?"
Build the question like a formula: question word + helper + subject + verb. Where + do + you + work?
